Commenting strictly on the Bonus DVD, “Wake Up Ron Burgundy”, I must say that my expectations were far surpassed. I was expecting a bonus disc of deleted and extended scenes, cast notes, etc… I had no conception they had filmed enough footage to slice another movie together. I loved the recent Anchorman movie, so I was beautiful exasperated to witness this “bonus movie”.

“Wake Up Ron Burgundy” contains some scenes that could easily have been ragged in the modern movie. There is some hilarious material to be discovered on this disc. The DVD also contains Rehearsal footage, Ron Burgundy’s award acceptance speeches, MTV Movie Award interviews and even some skits they seemed to film for no other reason than their occupy amusement. This is titanic material to have if you like the “Channel 4 News Team”, as they are truly permitted to bustle wild in these bonus features. I have not been able to catch this DVD offered on its absorb and I’m assuming it is of cramped quantity, so accept it while you can…

As far as I know, the only contrivance to secure it is to recall it in the bundle with the novel. I actually had to engage the movie again when I found out there was another DVD to be seen. The fresh had left me with countless lines to quote and so many scenes I found myself rewinding over and over again that I decided to splurge and glean the bonus disc along with another novel copy.

If you enjoyed Ron, Champ, Brian & Brick in Anchorman, you will definitely relish this movie.

“If we encounter any hostiles, restful throat cuts only” - Brick Tambland.

I LOVED this movie when I saw it in the theatre over the past summer- so I was pumped to discover an “unrated” version arrive out on DVD.

Whomever was in charge of putting this DVD together yanked a astronomical chain on this release. I had expected the “unrated” version to be funnier than the theatrical version which I conception was one of the year’s funniest movies, because in general, “unrated” cuts have been better than the “regular” release.

This “unrated” version skips a couple really grand monents from the theatrical version, one instance is when Carell’s character “Brick” utters “I ate a huge red candle” during the party hangover sequence and they replace it with a joke that’s nowhere approach that grand non-sequitor. Reach the extinguish of the film they edited out Ferrell’s lines objective before he picks up the phone in the bar (something about “once being an anchorman”) which was more in line with the film’s plot/angle than the novel scene of Burgundy eating cat poop. A TERRIBLY UNFUNNY ADDITION.

The crapper of it is, the unrated DVD has different and admittedly better extras than the theatrical DVD release, so to actually score the theatrical crop(which is a better prick than the unrated version) the customer gets screwed if they want the better extra features. lame.

in all actuality this review would be 4 for the movie, and 1 for the contrivance this fiasco was place out on DVD.

Having seen the movie multiple times, I was very disappointed with the production of this DVD. Scenes have been slit, for example, a mesmerizing nunchaku demonstration from the killer, and some bizarre editing happened: Tom Berenger is beat up by cops in the movie, and that was edited in the dvd, a stripper’s dog howls when killed by the psychopath, and that also doesn’t appear in the DVD. I am going to sell this ASAP, and lift the remarkable better produced UK edition, which, strangely enough, features all the missing scenes.

I have seen this movie in VHS at least a dozen times, although I never remember seeing it in the theaters. It has a terrific cast, a first-rate myth, tall strip scenes and awesome fight scenes. Something for everyone. I was so jubilant to perceive it in DVD, since my VHS copy had self-destructed.

Aoyama is a dim lonely man whose wife died seven years previously. Instead of remarrying, Aoyama decided to save his all into his work and becomes relatively successful. However, the death of his wife leaves a hole in him, and when his son suggests that he obtain remarried he asks his friend Yoshikawa helps him by having a spurious audition in which Aoyama can capture 30 women and choose which one of them he wants to marry. He decides on the handsome Asami Yamazaki who is also very soft spoken, well-behaved, and reliable. Aoyama soon becomes obsessed with the young woman, and their relationship begins to blossom revealing a flower chubby of worms. Asami is remarkable more than what she appears to be.

It should be celebrated that, although Miike gets most of the acclaim for this film, Murakami Ryu wrote the screenplay. Murakami penned such well-known novels as _Almost Transparent Blue_, _Coin Locker Babies_, and _In the Miso Soup_. If I had never heard of Miike before watching this film, I would have unruffled known to be on my guard because of Murakami.

Although this film is ripe with violence, I maintain that the main theme is lonliness. Aoyama is lonely. Asami sits by her phone in a dismal room desperately waiting for Aoyama to call. These scenes prove the lonliness that a number of Japanese, and of course others, feel in their post unique country. Surrounded by people, but all alone with no one they can really record to.

Please be prepared for some very disturbing imagery.

In the battle between men and women, who will triumph? Who knows, but Japanese director Takashi Miike’s film “Audition” shines a particularly brutal light on this eternal conflict. Location in Japan, the film takes on additional significance considering what we know about the role of women in that society. I am far not expert on Japanese social roles or mores, but I imagine the stereotypical report of a Japanese woman as a subservient figure to men is more or less an apt one. Certainly, gender roles have changed somewhat over the last fifty plus years as Japan speedy industrialized and assumed a western style political system. One hopes that some progress in this state has taken dwelling there, but I am not so obvious after watching this film. Apparently, the thought of a docile, ever ready to attend her partner woman detached exerts a strong influence in that country. Otherwise, “Audition” would acquire tiny sense to its target audience. Completely independent of its execute on Japanese audiences, the movie will send shivers down the spine of every American male.

“Audition” starts like a Japanese adaptation of some saccharine American family television program. Aoyama, a man whose wife died some years before, desperately seeks female companionship. He works as a television producer, has done an beneficial job raising his son, and enjoys bonding with this son on fishing trips. Aoyama, in other words, is a really nice guy. It’s honest that he is so lonely nowadays since his son is hastily growing up and has less and less time to exercise with his father. Aoyama therefore soon faces the prospect of almost total solitude. Our hero opens his heart to his business partner one evening at the local bar, lamenting the changing face of Japanese society that has led to a decline of old women–meaning ladies who will conclude home and support their husbands–and a rise in the numbers of recent, cynical women. After commiserating with his buddy, the two reach up with an apt conception. Recognizing that they work in the film business, why not assign out an ad for a female piece in a modern television program while secretly using the audition process as a means of securing the perfect mate for Aoyama? What a lustrous thought! A lickety-split perusal of the resumes beforehand will encourage narrow down the final choices.

The notion goes off without a hitch, and Aoyama does indeed examine a young woman who he thinks will be his ideal match. Blessed with an ethereal visage and the heavenly name of Asami, this young woman seems like a lovely secure. Aoyama likes the fact that the young woman has undergone a few personal tragedies in her life but emerged stronger because of them. He even seems to like her perpetual shyness, perhaps because it indicates Asami is a conventional woman who will know her station in Aoyama’s household. Even after deciding on Asami, our hero hesitates to pursue the relationship. Should he be so forward? Wouldn’t it seem indecorous to accomplish such blatant overtures? As Aoyama debates what action he should rob a few problems emerge that cast a pall over his choice. His partner encourages him to resolve someone else, saying that her “chemistry” isn’t true and that he has a abominable feeling about this young girl. Another possible dilemma emerges when Aoyama discovers that Asami has no permanent address. Only a phone number links the two potential lovers, but the lonely Aoyama throws all caution to the wind and calls anyway. On the other extinguish of the line sits Asami, who spends a lot of time sitting around a bare room waiting by the telephone. When the phone finally rings, a smile chunky of unsuitable implications stretches itself across Asami’s mug. She obviously knows her charms worked on the older Aoyama and now she plans on running a expose plump of painful activities.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Audition: Collector’s Edition! Click Here

No guy wants to contemplate the sort of things that happen to Aoyama could really occur, but it can happen when you inaugurate treating people like objects instead of living, breathing beings. And Asami has been treated like an object by every male figure in her life. When it comes time to lash out at her oppressors, Aoyama is there to prefer the descend. The film becomes problematic when we learn that the main character is actually a nice guy. He loves his son, certainly wouldn’t treat a woman badly, and is so lonely that it is tough to not empathize with the desperate measures he takes to come by a woman. Miike lessens the likeability of Aoyama during the second half of the film, when we spy he has some decidedly unsavory desires of his bear, but I smooth couldn’t relieve but feel sorry for the guy.

Whether the outrageous torture session between Aoyama and Asami actually takes position or is a dream really isn’t all that crucial to the epic line although it certainly achieves a fingernails on the blackboard finish for any male watching it. I reflect “Audition” is a film about how men and women constantly and consistently fail to connect on a personal level. When Aoyama authorizes the audition and reads through the resumes looking for the perfect woman, he assigns a host of assumptions to Asami based on what HE wants in a woman. Whether she will fulfill these expectations in person is secondary to what the man wants. Perceive the movie, not unprejudiced for the gore scenes, but also to belief a social critique about gender roles and miscommunication.

My 2 1/2 year-old son received this dvd as a Christmas gift and LOVES it! It’s now February and he quiet asks to view it frequently. It is well-produced and bewitching so we don’t mind watching it as well.

Yes, it is longer (obviously) and more complex than the Bob TV series, and some children may collect bored with it. And Elton John fans, be warned, his character does not have a very tall role.

We have been waiting for this for over a year, and my 4 year-son weak was VERY elated to examine it finally come. We loved the last “feature length” movie (Knights of fix-a-lot) so I knew that this yarn would be able to gain his attention for the chubby legend. I LOVED seeing Elton John… which my son couldn’t care less about. He wished he could look the trucks more. (They didn’t do remarkable work in this epic that is for clear.) He also wanted to peep Bob and his brother (Tom) together more… don’t want to spoil it, but they don’t procure together till the destroy! He didn’t accept to glance them utilize Christmas together, which was the whole point of the movie to him. He also view the unusual Mayor was bossy… which she was.

The Nun’s Story is available for streaming or downloading.

“The Nun’s Account” is probably Audrey Hepburn’s best film and by far the one which shows to best achieve her substantial acting talent. It is the autobiographical yarn of Sister Luke, a very young Belgian nun, who enters the convent at age 17 for specifically the rank reason: her doctor father refuses to let her marry the young man she loves because there is insanity in his family background. She won’t admit to him, as she is too young to admit it to herself, that her underlying reason in entering the convent was to spite her father, who believes women have a duty to marry and have children, but he is powerless to oppose her in this; he can prevent her from marrying her fiance, but who is he to defy God? Sister Luke, as played by Hepburn, wins us over instantly: she’s salubrious, open-hearted, all or nothing, trying and failing and trying again, expecting too powerful of herself, wanting to fit in to the routine of her cloister, but feeling stifled by its constraints. The atmosphere of the convent is brought so vividly to life that we feel the conflicts pulling her in opposite directions: the peace and serenity that are embodied in the Reverend Mother Emmanuel (Edith Evans is so mountainous in this role that she doesn’t seem to be acting at all), and the incessant weight of seemingly arbitrary and nonsensical rules and regulations that attempt to crush all individuality and spontaneity. The pivotal conflict arises in the first half of the movie, when Sister Luke is asked by her Mother Great to fail a qualifying examination for a nursing post in the Congo so that a less gifted nun can have her region, and Sister Luke has to manufacture a choice: her failure will be a gift from God, but her success in the examination will accept her a region in the Congolese hospital where her talents can be most fully utilized. And this is where Sister Luke has to face her inner dilemma: the convent, with all its rules and regulations, hasn’t managed to crush her individuality — she is too great her occupy person to let go of herself.

It is in the Congo that Sister Luke comes into her maintain. She falls in adore with the country and its people as soon as she steps off the boat. She is sent to the European hospital to relieve Dr. Fortunati, a knowing, cynical surgeon who immediately sees through Sister Luke and understands her better than she understands herself. The meeting of minds between these two is awesome to discover and in itself makes the movie worth seeing. Dr. Fortunati, brilliantly played by Peter Finch, tells Sister Luke time and again that she will never be the kind of nun her convent expects her to be. The sexual tension between the two is evident but downplayed; Dr. Fortunati knows it’s impossible and Sister Luke simply refuses to retort it. The climax comes when Sister Luke is ordered serve to the mother house in Belgium, and we suspect that Dr. Fortunati may have had a hand in it, to force her to face up to the fact that she is more nurse than nun.

The year is 1939 and World War II is about to open. Sister Luke, chafing at the constraints of the mother house, is drawn into the war in ways her convent never imagined or would sanction. She assists a young lay nurse, who looks up to her as a role model, to work for the Resistance. She is blissful when a German woman dies in the convent hospital. And she is finally forced to behold inside herself and realize that while she may be able to gather chastity and poverty, obedience is impossible. At this point Sister Luke realizes she can no longer go on living a lie. The scenes in which her confessor and Reverend Mother Emmanuel attempt to dissuade her from leaving the convent are the most distinguished in the film. “You joined the convent to be a nun, not a nurse”, remonstrates Reverend Mother. But this is precisely where she’s wrong; Sister Luke is noteworthy more a nurse than she will ever be a nun. After 17 years at war with herself, Sister Luke signs the papers severing her from her convent, and goes out into the world.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Nun’s Story! Click Here

Hepburn’s performance in a role which demands so grand from her is incredible; we not only feel but allotment all her conflict and inner afflict. There is no device she could reach across as a dreary, mousy nun (Hepburn would be drop-dead exquisite even in a burlap sack) but her acting is so convincing that we forget she is the elegant Audrey Hepburn and view her only as a soul in torment. Peter Finch is gracious as Dr. Fortunati and all of the minor characters are very well portrayed, but the right soul of the movie is Edith Evans as Reverend Mother Emmanuel, concerned with the spiritual health of her flock, and despairing yet fatalistic as one of her flock inexorably slips away. The movie is long (two and a half hours) but it’s never boring; it grabs our interest from the opening frame and holds it to the final frame in which Hepburn turns a corner out of the convent grounds and out of our contemplate. The one jarring ticket, especially after 40 years, is the patronizing paternalism of the Belgian colonization in the Congo; except for the education and medical care provided by the Church, the cruelty of Belgian colonial occupation was legendary and makes us wonder what Sister Luke’s fate would have been if she had returned to the Congo after she left the convent. At the extinguish of the film we are left with colossal respect and admiration for an incredibly strong yet fallible young woman whose high-tail to self-knowledge is a life-long project.

Audrey Hepburn is best known for her light romantic comedies. Everybody loves them. She dresses up in some Givenchy outfits and blows the audience away with her beauty and charm. In “The Nun’s Memoir” she completly sheds that image and immerses herself in the role of the conflicted Sister Luke, a Belgian nun torn by her obligations to her church and order, her duty to her patients as a nurse, and her duty to her country during the Nazi occupation.

This a long and very introspective film that is not for everyone. It contains a detailed perceive at life in a Belgian convent and a Congo hospital in the years before WWII which may bore some people. Also some of Audrey’s fans looking for her as Princess Anne or Sabrina Fairchild or Holly Golightly may be disappointed to salvage only the definite, reserved, and prideful Sister Luke. (Although Audrey does produce attractive looking nun.) The length, the slowly paced style, the subject matter, and the modern role for its star have combined to preserve it off the list of Audrey Hepburn’s best known films.

Personally, I consider this Audrey’s greatest dramatic performance and maybe her best performance ever. She very ably conveys Sister Luke’s inner conflict between her oath as a nun and her duties as a nurse, daughter, and Belgian citizen. That she is able to do so in a film that has long stretches where there is no dialogue is great. She was nominated for Best Actress for this role, and she more than deserved to earn, but came up short. “The Nun’s Myth” illustrates that Audrey Hepburn certainly had the ability to flesh out dramatic characters and that she was more than unbiased a charming and resplendent woman in a Givenchy outfit. She was a substantial actor as well.

For the myriads of fans of the book, Suitable News! Author Louis Sacher did the shroud adaptation, and Director Andrew Davis did an respectable job in creating the mood, leading his radiant cast of young actors, and being faithful to the spirit and actuality of the book.

Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LaBouf), is a hard-luck boy, not surprising seeing his great-great grandpa had a curse laid on him for eternity by Madam Zeroni (Eartha Kitt) . The Yelnats have had a habit of failure ever since. Stanley’s Dad, (Henry Winkler) is working (unsuccessfully, of course) on inventing a perfect shoe-deodorizer. Ironically, Stanley is falsely arrested for stealing a enormous athlete’s shoes. He is given a choice of jail or Camp Green Lake. Stanley innocently notes he’s never been to camp before so—you honest know This Was Not A Pleasant Choice. Camp Green Lake is on a parched and barren desert. The lake disappeared a century before. Stanley is indoctrinated by down-and-dirty poor Mr. Sir (Jon Voight) who informs Stanley his days will be spent digging 5′ x 5′ holes to do “character” and any misstep will bring him to the Warden’s (Sigourney Weaver) attention, a lady who coats her nails with rattlesnake venom.

His fellow inmates who like to be known as X-Ray, Armpit, Twisted and Magnet greet Stanley with hazing and hard times. His only good ally is runt itsy-bitsy Zero (Khleo Castro) who wants Stanley to divulge him to read. The day-in-day-out work is filthy, backbreaking and endless. But Stanley is learning some secrets that might permit him to smash the age-old curse of the Yelnats.

Mr. Davis tells us Stanley and Camp Green Lake’s history via flashbacks, and for the most fraction does a worthy job keeping the narrative bright, though it might be overly complex for younger viewers. Jon Voight is priceless as thoroughly awful, gimlet-eyed, bone plain Mr. Sir. Sigourney Weaver is fair unnerved of psychotic with her barely repressed rage at her area. The boys are rightly insecure of her. “Holes” has a pretty arc of a sage and culminates in a manner that will have the audience cheering.

There are a few scary scenes that might be too great for the viewer under nine, as well as the flashbacks that could be hard to understand. If you have doubts about suitability, read the book both to yourself and the child. That intention you have a win/win set. This is a don’t miss movie.

So when they introduced the movie, I was quite eager. Piece of me was hopeful it would turn out well, the other portion of me was skeptical that it would be anywhere approach as apt as the book. However, my fears were dashed. This movie was Amazing!

The chronicle jumps befriend and forth a diminutive between three different tales — the tale of Elya Yelnats, the main character’s “no capable, dirty-rotten, pig-stealing great-great-grandfather”; the epic of Stanley Yelnats IV himself; and the yarn of a legendary outlaw, Kissing Kate Barlow. The three stories are interwoven quite ingeniously. In some cases, you aren’t completely clear what the connection will be, but then when you earn out, it fits perfectly.

The memoir IS slightly altered, of course, as most books-brought-to-movies tend to be. But it very worthy keeps the spirit of the recent book. The boys are very believable — I especially appreciate Zero! Sigourney Weaver makes a wonderfully spoiled warden. And John Voigt does a amazing insane portrayal of Mr. Sir.

This movie will withhold you laughing and exciting throughout. And if you enjoyed the book, you’ll like this film!

I come by it spirited that this film’s reviews present a wide range of thought. The premise is an unique one: blend the former Chicken Puny memoir (a diminutive chicken gets hit on the head by an acorn, believes the sky is falling, panics, incites fear in others, and becomes a laughingstock) with, of all things, H.G. Wells’s “War of the Worlds”!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Chicken Little! Click Here

In this hybrid, Chicken Runt, voiced annoyingly well by Zach Braff, is hit on the head, creates a apprehension, becomes a laughingstock, and then tries to accept his social plot amongst the other “kids” (all different kinds of animals), plus tries to regain his loving father’s respect. His father, voiced paternalistically perfectly by Gary Marshall, is a single father, who loves his only child, but he was also deeply embarrassed by the sky-is-falling fiasco.

Chicken Itsy-bitsy has three friends: Puny, an mammoth piglet with self-esteem issues, voiced neurotically well by Steve Zahn; Abby “Evil Duckling” Mallard, who is a cornucopia of well-intentioned and sometimes reasonable pop psychology advice, voiced offbeatly by Joan Cusack; and Fish Out of Water, an irrepressibly joyful small fish wearing a diving helmet filled with water, voiced perfectly unintelligibly by Dan Molina. The quartet are busy trying to survive school, inspect pressure, extreme social ranking, and frequent embarrassments, and are doing quite well at it. There are also some very edifying voice-cameos: Don Knotts as Mayor Turkey-Lurkey, Patrick Stewart as the teacher, and Frank Willard as the “visitor” father.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Chicken Little! Click Here

And then, the unthinkable happens: the sky falls on Chicken Little’s head again, one year after the first incident. Chicken Miniature, and then his friends, realize that this is actually a End Encounter of the Third (or Fourth? ) Kind, that evolves into a full-scale alien invasion, because of a moment of parental distraction and a ample misunderstanding. Can the quartet keep the world and avoid an unnecessary interplanetary war? Can Chicken Dinky win his father to absorb in him? Those two issues are inextricably interwoven.

The narrative is glowing off-the-wall, but is fun to observe, and lends itself to lots of action and interaction. The father-son suppose, and the parent-child dispute, are dealt with nicely. I feel that the animation is very superb, and harkens encourage to classic cartoons of yesteryear. The colors were bright, and there was titanic attention to detail (e.g., the traffic light was speed by a chameleon, who changed color along with the tag being held up) . I very great liked how the different animal citizens of Oakey Oak acted somewhat like people, but also retained their natural, realistic aspects (e.g., the dog family did eat in a restaurant, but ate their food accurate out of a bowl, and lapped up their beverages) . Even the vehicles driven by the animals were customized to each species, and the vehicles seemed to be objective as remarkable alive as their passengers.

Among the special features of the DVD, you can gawk most of the actors doing their voiceover performances. And, instead of offering us alternative endings, we can peer three alternative openings to the memoir, including one where Chicken Limited is a girl instead of a boy.

Is this a first-rate, fun film for younger children and for families with young children? I believe it is. Will it appeal to teenagers? Probably not. Will parents accept any objectionable in it? I highly doubt it. Will adults bask in it as worthy as, say, “Shrek” or “Ice Age”? No, the humor does not strike different levels like it does in those films. But, adults will probably be pleased it for at least one viewing, and smile a lot.

I have to add that the one character, Fish Out of Water, is one of my celebrated tantalizing characters ever. I found him to be irresistibly likeable. Mom, can I have one? I promise to choose care of him! Please!

I took my 7 year faded son and 5 year primitive daughter to this movie thinking it was going to be a expressionless kids movie. Boy was I surpised when I laughed unprejudiced as remarkable as my kids, may be more. There was adult humor and songs from my past that went lawful by them but was very laughable to me!

Dumbo is a cinematic milestone and masterpiece of family entertainment. The storyline and characters are well rounded enough (honest) to entertain adults and older children and the quality of the animation both holds children’s attention and enables them to empathise with the principle characters. In addition, the good of the narrative is well presented without being clumsily overstated as in distinguished recent animation.

Both my children have frequently watched this DVD (which first came out (without extras) in Europe in 1999) since they were one and both luxuriate in it imensely.

I’m both astonished and terrified that anyone could mediate this movie sinister for children but can only win they reach from the same group of people who banned Robin Hood books from schools for being ‘pro communist’ and Shakespeare for being ‘too explicit’!

The ‘drunken scene’ is comical, brief and discrete (all you peek is the shadows of characters through canvas) . As to posthaste forwarding through the dream sequence for the kids’ serve because it is ‘too long’ that is verging on irresponsible. All doing so teaches a child is that it’s OK to have a short attention span and to zoom through films to the ‘interesting bits’. Perhaps I was putrid though and the accurate of the anecdote has been hidden too deeply “Persevere - Don’t Give Up” is lost on some people.

The Simpsons DVD sets so far have been jam-packed with extras, commentaries, and creative menu pages, which may be the reason the seasons are fairly tiresome in coming out. I am getting a bit antsy because the next 7 seasons or so are so broad, but marvelous things advance to those who wait. Season five has some of my current episodes. Some were handsome rare to glance in syndication and now almost impossible to spy as the novel reruns seem to concentrate on the later seasons. Here are my season five highlights:

“Homer’s Barbershop Quartet” with an appearance by George Harrison. This parody of the Beatles is very clever, especially Barney’s girlfriend, “the Japanese conceptual artist.”

“Rosebud” is in my top 10 Simpsons episodes ever. Mr. Burns is obsessed with finding his boyhood teddy occupy Bobo. It is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen. The best piece is when Smithers dresses like Bobo to try to, uh, cheer up Burns.

“Bart’s Inner Child”: Self-help guru Brad Goodman is impressed by Bart’s “do what you feel like” attitude. Springfield puts together a “Do What You Feel Festival,” a welcome change from the “Do As We Say Festival” (started by German settlers) .

“Boy-Scoutz in the Hood”: Another common of mine. A sugar high causes Bart to join the junior campers, lead by Ned Flanders. Enduring Homer’s constant teasing, Bart dreads telling Homer about the father-son rafting glide (Homers response: “Ha, you don’t have a son.”) . Ernest Borgnine guest stars.

“Homer and Apu”: Apu gets busted for selling dismal meat and loses his job at the Kwik-E-Mart. At one point, Apu and Homer fade to India so Apu can sight forgiveness from the Keik-E-Mart CEO who resides in not the most conveniently located convenience stores. James Woods guest stars.

“Lisa Vs. Malibu Stacy”: Lisa is on a rampage when her talking Malibu Stacy doll says things like “Don’t ask me, I’m fair a girl.” She meets with the doll’s creator Stacy Lovell to produce a more politically good doll. Lovell had been forced out of the company because her ideas were not cost effective (oh, and she was also “funneling profits to the Viet Cong”) . It is hilarious. Smithers’ start-up page on his computer is a must-see.

“Deep Status Homer”: A classic where Homer goes into spot. Buzz Aldrin and James Taylor are guests.

“The Boy Who Knew Too Distinguished”: Bart plays hooky and witnesses an incident that causes a trial against Mayor Quimby’s nephew Freddy. On the jury is Homer “how many s’s are in innocent” Simpson.

“Secrets of a Successful Marriage”: Homer feels vital teaching a class on marriage but Marge is not blissful with his “issue all” lesson thought.

These are my favorites of this DVD region. Other episodes include: Cape Feare (starring Springfield’s criminal mastermind Sideshow Bob), Homer Goes to College, Treehouse of Panic IV (where Homer sells his soul for a donut), Marge on the Lam (a Thelma and Louise parody), The Last Temptation of Homer, How I Learned to End Worrying and Adore Legalized Gambling, Homer the Vigilante, Bart Gets Celebrated (Bart as the “I didn’t do it” boy), Homer Loves Flanders, Bart Gets an Elephant, Burn’s Heir, Sweet Seymour Skinner’s Baadasssss Song, and Lady Bouvier’s Lover (with a parody of The Graduate) .

Seems like Fox Studio is getting faster at pumping these DVDs out. The fifth season might be where the simpsons jumped the shark pit, but I’ll leave that discussion to the ubernerds. The fifth season includes the following episodes:
